Slightly Annoyed Mixed Chick & 2.5 Women
In 2019 two friends got together to try and figure out how to make an
impact on the world.
So they decided to start a blog and an Instagram account to make sure
they connected with like minded and those who wanted to learn about social justice and the impact that racism has on the world.
And then in the summer of 2020 the world exploded. Between Covid and a summer of horrific assaults on the Black community. One blog and Instagram grew to, one blog, two Instagrams and one YouTube in order to try and combat all of the hate and pain going on in the world.
And this leads us to this moment right now.......
Taking that same energy and applying it to a way to give back to the community.
So we decided to start a clothing line and in doing so, 10% of each sale will go to the Sentencing Project.
Below is their mission statement and website link:
Mission: The Sentencing Project promotes effective and humane responses to crime that minimize imprisonment and criminalization of youth and adults by promoting racial, ethnic, economic, and gender justice.
Our policy priorities envision the full inclusion in society of people with criminal records and an end to extreme punishments. Our aim is to center the leadership, voices, vision, and experience of those directly affected by mass incarceration to make the rationale for systemic change vivid, credible and compelling.
Protect voter eligibility and full civic inclusion
End extreme sentences in the United States
Safeguard youth from the ravages of the adult criminal legal system and push for alternatives to youth involvement in the adult and youth justice systems
Invest in positive community development
